Our Wedding

Our story began in August of 2020. It was one of those rare moments when timing, fate, and a global pandemic happen to collide. College move-in at the University of Kentucky was in full swing, and social distancing was still the norm. Kennedy had just settled into her new college apartment, “The Townhomes,” when she and her friends noticed the cute neighbors next door... the men’s golf team. One of them — kind, tall, and charming — caught her eye.That summer night, Allen and Kennedy met outside their apartments, and from that moment on… well, things just clicked.What followed was a whirlwind of quarantines at the Campbell House, tailgates in the courtyard, dinner parties at Cinco de Mayo, countless golf tournaments, and friend groups that blended together like it was always meant to be. We laughed, we danced, we endured Zoom classes... and somewhere along the way, we fell in love. Allen told Kennedy he loved her on January 31st, 2021, and the rest, as they say, is history.In May 2021, Allen graduated from UK and began applying for jobs, while Kennedy applied to dental school. We didn’t know exactly what the future would hold, but we knew we didn’t want to face it without each other. That summer, Allen started his career in Louisville, and thus began the era of weekend road trips. One year later, Kennedy graduated from college and started dental school back at UK, and the weekend road trips continued — four years of them.Over these last few years, we’ve built a life together. From cheering on the Cats at football games, to dressing up for Keeneland. to attending work and dental school events and going to golf tournaments, we tried to squeeze in every minute we could. We’ve grown up together, learning from each other, laughing together, and becoming the team we are today.We will finally both call Louisville home when Kennedy graduates dental school in May of 2026. But the real celebration? That happens on December 31st. The last night of the year, and the first night of forever.We can’t wait to celebrate our marriage with you. Here’s to love, laughter, and a lifetime of road trips — this time, together.

Our Story

What began as a day of horse racing and tailgating with friends quickly turned into the sweetest wager of all: a promise to spend our lives together. Allen's proposal transformed a beloved Lexington tradition into the very first chapter of our forever.

The Night Before

The adventure actually began the day before. While Kennedy headed back to Kentucky after a spring break trip to Florida, Allen enlisted her friends to create a fake, but convincing, brunch flyer for the following morning. He claimed it was for a golf tournament that he volunteered for. So, Kennedy and her road trip crew mapped out the day: brunch, tailgating, and then the races. That night, everyone arrived to Lexington and friends from Tennessee joined in on the fun. After finalizing our outfits for the next morning, everyone settled in. However, Kennedy had no idea what Allen was planning behind the scenes, let alone that all of her friends were in on it.

The Proposal

The morning of the proposal was full of energy as friends gathered for breakfast and drinks. Games and excitement filled the air before Kennedy and Allen slipped away to “brunch” held at the Keeneland Library. A photographer stood outside of the venue, but Kennedy wasn’t suspicious. After all, they were there to cover the volunteer event. But then, in that quiet, private moment, Allen dropped to one knee. In that instant, the day had shifted from ordinary to extraordinary.

Tailgating + The Races

After the proposal, we walked back to a celebratory tailgate where a sign read: “Hold your horses—She said YES!” Cheers erupted as friends and family surrounded us with love. The celebration continued with a real brunch, plenty of drinks, and of course, champagne. The group then headed into the races. Surrounded by our favorite people, we laughed, placed bets, and soaked in every second. It was energetic, joyful, and perfectly us. From the heartfelt proposal to the festive tailgate to cheering on the horses, every part of the day felt like a dream—the perfect start to our forever together.

What time should I arrive?Please plan to arrive at least 20 minutes before the ceremony begins. This will give you time to find your seat, grab a program, and settle in before we walk down the aisle.

Will there be an open bar?Yes! Our bar will be fully stocked, including signature cocktails, wine, beer, and plenty of champagne to keep the celebration flowing all night long.

Will there be late-night snacks?Yes! We’ll have late-night bites to keep you energized for dancing well past midnight.﻿
